Leo E. Strine, Jr. is currently Of Counsel at Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz. From 2014 to 2019, he was the Chief Justice of the Delaware Supreme Court. He previously served on the Delaware Court of Chancery as Chancellor since 2011, and as a Vice Chancellor since 1998. Chief Justice Strine has written hundreds of judicial opinions in the areas of corporate law, contract law, trusts and estates, criminal law, administrative law, and constitutional law. Mr. Strine also serves as the Michael L. Wachter Distinguished Fellow in Law and Policy at the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School, the Ira M. Millstein Distinguished Senior Fellow at the Ira M. Millstein Center for Global Markets and Corporate Ownership at Columbia Law School and a Senior Fellow of the Harvard Program on Corporate Governance. From 2006 to 2019, Mr. Strine served as the special judicial consultant to the ABA’s Committee on Corporate Laws. He also was the special judicial consultant to the ABA’s Committee on Mergers & Acquisitions from 2014 to 2019. Mr. Strine speaks and writes frequently on the subjects of corporate and public law, and particularly the impact of business on society, and his articles have been published in The University of Chicago Law Review, Columbia Law Review, Cornell Law Review, Duke Law Journal, Harvard Law Review, University of Pennsylvania Law Review, and Stanford Law Review, among others.
Sabastian V. Niles (HLS) is a Partner at Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz where he focuses on shareholder and stakeholder activism and preparedness, takeover defense and corporate governance; risk oversight, including as to ESG; and mergers, acquisitions, buyouts, investments, divestitures and strategic partnerships. Mr. Niles co-founded the Harvard Association for Law & Business and serves on HALB's Alumni Advisory Board and the Harvard Law School Association of NYC's board. Sabastian advises boards of directors and management teams worldwide and across industries, including technology, financial institutions, media, energy and natural resources, healthcare and pharmaceuticals, construction and manufacturing, real estate/REITs and consumer goods and retail. In addition to serving as Consulting Editor for the New York Stock Exchange’s Corporate Governance Guide and other corporate governance, activism and M&A publications, Sabastian writes frequently on corporate law matters and has been a featured speaker at corporate strategy and investor forums.
